Despite being born more than a decade apart, two Kazakh sisters share a unique bond through the rare genetic condition known as albinism. This disorder results in a lack of pigmentation in the skin, eyes, and hair, giving those affected a strikingly distinctive appearance. Asel and Kamila are not just siblings; they are also rising stars in the modeling world.

    A Surprising Family Journey

Asel, now 14, was born with albinism, which initially surprised her mother, Aiman Sarkitova. The family was further astonished when Kamila arrived 12 years later, also diagnosed with the same condition. This coincidence creates a rare sibling dynamic that not only highlights their physical similarities but also fosters a deep connection. Together, they decided to embark on a modeling partnership, showcasing their unique beauty to the world.

    Building a Modeling Career Together

Asel began her modeling career at the age of ten, but her sister’s presence has amplified their appeal. With Kamila, who is just two years old, the sisters have attracted significant attention, amassing over 33,000 followers on Instagram. Their striking visuals and bond resonate with audiences, illustrating that beauty comes in many forms, especially in the context of their shared experiences.

    Navigating Challenges Associated with Albinism

While their albinism has paved the way for opportunities, it also presents specific challenges, particularly in relation to sun sensitivity. Asel explains her precautions when going outside, emphasizing the importance of sunscreen, protective clothing, and sometimes an umbrella. She finds evenings easier for outdoor activities when the sun’s intensity is lower. This awareness reflects a maturity in understanding their health needs while pursuing their dreams.

The Power of Sisterhood in Advocacy

Despite the challenges they face, Asel and Kamila are fortunate to have each other, a rarity for many individuals with albinism who often feel isolated. Their modeling success offers them a platform to raise awareness about albinism and redefine societal perceptions of beauty. Asel underscores the importance of education, pointing out that “many people do not know what albinos are.” Through their journey, they aim to inspire others and demonstrate that embracing uniqueness is essential for fostering acceptance and understanding.
