At first glance, the photo appeared perfectly normal. But upon closer inspection, ShaneJoy Mills was shocked to realize that something unusual had appeared in the shot. “Lord, it was scary!” she exclaimed, recalling the moment she noticed the intruder in the picture.
The snake, which had blended in seamlessly with the tree, went unnoticed until ShaneJoy examined the photos more carefully. It was only when she urged Brooke to smile for the camera that the shocking discovery was made. “I said ‘Brooke, come here,’ and she looked at me like I’m not done taking pics! Then I said, ‘Brooke, get away from the tree now,’” ShaneJoy recalled, still processing the surprise.
The Snake’s Hidden Presence
The snake, which appeared well-fed and content, had camouflaged so well against the tree bark that it was nearly invisible in the initial photos. Upon closer inspection, social media users identified the snake as a rat snake.
Although initially alarming, the snake didn’t pose any threat to the family and was merely a curious photobomber, striking a pose in the background of Brooke’s photo. Thankfully, no harm came from the encounter.
